Aesthetic flat closure as a breast reconstruction option

Aesthetic flat closure (AFC) has only been an approved medical term since 2020. Unlike a traditional mastectomy, where the surgeon will often leave some breast tissue behind to aid in reconstruction, AFC is a reconstructive technique that leaves the woman with a perfectly flat chest.
